We are excited to announce that the Lugger-Radcliffe Fellowship will be available for graduate students (MS/PhD) in the Entomology graduate program, for summer 2021.
Purpose: The Lugger-Radcliffe Fellowship is open to graduate students in the Entomology Graduate Program currently studying and performing research in sustainable integrated pest management (IPM), including applied ecology of arthropod pests within agricultural or forest ecosystems, which may also include research on pollinator health.
Eligibility Criteria

Full-time graduate students that have completed at least one semester, and have at least two semesters remaining in the Entomology Graduate Program

With exceptional potential in their field
The Fellowship includes a stipend for summer 2021 and subsidized health insurance through the Graduate Assistant Health Plan.

Curriculum vitae, which should include: GPA, awards, fellowships received, oral and poster presentations for professional meetings; publications (limited to published or in-press submissions only and must provide complete citation), grants submitted and received, outreach and service at department, college, university levels or for professional society, or community service.

Please request two recommendations from the following: 1) Major Advisor/co-Advisor; 2) Member of your Thesis Committee; 3) Instructor of one of your UMN graduate courses.
Ask them to comment on the following:
- Scholarship: The student’s depth of understanding of the science of entomology, research creativity and independent thought, intellectual development, and thesis progress (max 150 words).
- Communication skills: The student’s ability to communicate the science of entomology through oral and written venues (publications, presentations at meetings), teaching, or extension activities (max 150 words).
- Leadership and service. The student’s role in the larger community, including (but not limited to) examples of cooperation with colleagues and faculty and extracurricular activities (max 150 words).
