To contribute with food safety. Insects affect crops for food production all over the world. I want to be able to understand the role and impact of insects in the system and develop ways that can be added to the IPM to ensure food security.

The level and quality of the research that takes place at the University of Minnesota has huge impacts on agriculture worldwide. There is a commitment to innovating and adapting technologies to advance research while facing a growing climate challenge. The University of Minnesota is a diverse and inclusive community in which I am certain to become a well-trained scientist.
I hope to use my background and the training I am going to get to improve our field, the quality of life of the farmers, and consumers as a professional scientist.
Dragonflies. They are very beautiful and intriguing creatures that have been around for about 300 million years. Fact: Dragonflies only eat prey they catch while flying. They are a great control on the mosquito population.
I like volunteering in different projects and/or events to contribute with my experience, meet new people, and learn more about topics of my interest.
