Why insects?
I have always loved insects and being in nature, but my time in the Entomology Department at the American Museum of Natural History in New York solidified my passion for entomological research.
Why University of Minnesota?
Initially I was drawn to UMN by my advisor and her project. I also love Minnesota and have lived here most of my life, and I am very lucky to have grown up with a great university so close.
Aspirations: I hope to one day have a position as a PI at a museum, conducting research and helping with exhibit design.
Favorite Insect
Bumble Flower Beetle (favorite Minnesota insect)
Other interests/Hobbies
I enjoy live music and festivals. I am also an avid watercolor painter, mostly focusing on portraiture or nature. I frequently try to travel and hike and consider it a part of my creative process.
Coffee or Tea?
I love both!
